The homeopathic constultation has no fixed timescale, it takes as long as it takes for you to tell your story, and for me to collect the information I need to make a prescription. We are all unique, and this information is used to find the one substance which matches your symptoms, like for like. I have an understanding of many of the homeopathic medicines at our disposal and I have many tools to find the best medicine for your situation.
Prescriptions are generally sent via the Royal Mail postal system, apart from home visits, which are usually dispensed there and then, unless it is a complex situation and further work is necessary. Homeopathic remedies are deep acting, but can also be slow acting, and so can take time to work, and depending on the length of time the dis-ease has had to develop, this will determine how long treatment will take to shift the symptoms.
A follow up consultation is usually booked in, for around a month to six weeks later, to discuss what has changed and to decide on next steps going forward. Communication between consultations to discuss arising issues is normal and can be arranged at short notice depending on necessity. This is important as in some cases it may not be immediately apparent to all but the homeopath that changes and improvements have taken place. Homeopathic treatment can be subtle and slow. It is only at the follow up that we can discern what improvement has occurred.
The length of treatment depends on the nature of the condition. The general rule is that the longer it has been going on, the longer treatment is likely to take to really get to the root cause of the disturbance. This is not always the case however, and homeopathy can sometimes work miraculously in a very short time. The quality of a person's vitality is the guiding rule of thumb here, for instance children usually have better vitality than adults and require less treatment.
In some situations, it is possible that the homeopathic remedy may exacerbate or aggravate the existing condition, before improvement occurs. This is nothing to worry about and usually passes in a short time. Also it may trigger cold symptoms, or some sort of discharge, which is just the body's way of spring cleaning and moving towards a better state of health.
It is fine to use homeopathic remedies in conjunction with medicines prescribed by your GP. They generally work at a deeper energetic level and won't interfere with one another.
All consultations take place in the strictest confidence.
Home visits are available for acute conditions, or where all else has failed.
